Account & Data Deletion

How to delete your Drivzu account and the personal data linked to it.

Last updated: 11 July 2026Version 1.0

1.Overview

You can ask us to delete your Drivzu account and the personal data associated with it at any time. This page explains how to make that request, what is deleted, and the limited categories of information we are legally required to keep. It applies to all Drivzu products: the Drivzu learner app, the Drivzu Instructor app, and this website.

This is your right to erasure under Article 17 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). For the full picture of how we handle your data, see our Privacy Policy.

2.How to Delete Your Account

Option A — In the app (fastest)

If you have the Drivzu or Drivzu Instructor app installed:

  1. Open the app and sign in.
  2. Go to Settings → Account.
  3. Tap Delete account and confirm.

Your account is deactivated immediately and your personal data is removed as described below.

Option B — By email

If you can no longer access the app, email us from the address on your account at hello@drivzu.com with the subject "Delete my account". We will verify that the request comes from the account holder and complete the deletion within 30 days (usually much sooner).

3.What Is Deleted

When you delete your account, we remove the personal information that identifies you, including:

  • Your name, email address and phone number.
  • Your date of birth, gender, home address and Eircode.
  • Your profile photo and any uploaded identity or verification images — a learner permit, an instructor ADI badge and selfie, or a driving-licence photo. The underlying image files are permanently deleted from our storage, not just unlinked.
  • Your learner permit / driving-licence / ADI numbers, VAT number, and any free-text notes such as special requirements.
  • Your sign-in credentials and security data — passwords, login sessions, two-factor settings, connected Google/Facebook/Apple logins, saved devices, and push-notification registrations. This also immediately signs you out everywhere.

4.What We Keep, and Why

A small amount of data cannot be deleted straight away because we are legally required to keep it, or because it also belongs to another person you interacted with. Where we keep it, we disconnect it from your identity (anonymise it) so it can no longer be traced back to you.

  • Booking, payment and payout records. Irish and EU tax law require us to retain financial and transaction records for up to six years. These are anonymised but kept for accounting, tax and dispute purposes.
  • Reviews and messages. Content you shared with another user (for example a review you left, or messages in a lesson thread) may be retained in anonymised form so the other party's record of the interaction remains intact.
  • Payment processing. Card payments are handled by Stripe; we never store your card number. Stripe retains transaction records under its own legal obligations — see Stripe's privacy policy.

Anonymised records are stripped of anything that identifies you. Our encrypted backups are rotated on a rolling schedule, and any residual copies age out of those backups within that cycle.

5.Deleting Only Some Data

If you would like to remove specific information without closing your account — for example an old profile photo or a phone number — you can update or clear those fields directly in the app, or email hello@drivzu.com and tell us what you would like removed.

6.Requesting a Copy of Your Data

Before deleting your account, you can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you (your right of access under GDPR Article 15). Request an export in the app or by emailing hello@drivzu.com, and we will provide it within 30 days.

7.Contact & Complaints

For any question about deleting your account or your privacy rights, contact our data protection team at hello@drivzu.com, or write to Drivzu Ltd, 59 Newtown Manor, Kilmurry Road, Limerick, V94 2Y86, Ireland.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie if you are unhappy with how we have handled your request.
